Interview with Maya Waiters owner of “Culture Popup Tour”

Mrs Maya Waiters, tell us more about you the owner of Culture Popup Tour

Business Owner Maya Waiters was born and raised in Warren, Ohio and relocated to Atlanta, GA in 2014. Maya has met her husband as well in Atlanta and the two got married in 2019. She is currently enrolled in school for Business pursuing her Bachelor’s degree. Maya Waiters is an ambitious entrepeneur with an intense passion for supporting black businesses, enabling them to develop faith in starting their businesses and pursuing their purpose maximally. Maya also loves to travel and network with other likeminded entrepreneurs and being around family is also what’s important to her.

Tell us about your business and the products or services you offer

Culture Popup Tour is a traveling popup brand which tours various cities across the country to support and showcase black-owned businesses. We want creativity to be enjoyed by all, and that is why we go about serving the creative juice entrenched in people of color.

What do we do?
The entire services of Culture Popup Tour Community can be summarized with the three following words:
SUPPORT— We support small businesses to achieve their goals
SHOWCASE— We showcase creativity
DISCOVER— We discover greatness and celebrate their accomplishments

We achieve the above by hosting popup events in various cities all over the country. Culture Popup Tour Community is very concerned about the provision of opportunities for small businesses to grow their brands. We aim to establish a global platform that celebrates the stories and accomplishments of creative entrepreneurs; especially in black communities all around the world. More importantly, we want this done in such a way that these entrepreneurs are seen and celebrated within an environment of fun, to create long-lasting and memorable experiences. This is why we go on tours to celebrate creativity and to inspire more of such in society!

Where came from the idea of founding your business?

Before I founded this brand, I had a strong desire to create a global platform for black-owned businesses to pursue their purpose and show their creativity to all, as well as get recognized and celebrated for their hard work and accomplishments which gave me the idea on the name Culture Popup Tour.
After having several nights of brainstorming and weeks of deliberations with some of my trusted allies, I decided to create the kind of platform I’d always wanted. My wonderful team and I began hosting popup events for entrepreneurs. This was a reflection of my passion for supporting small businesses and for letting them know that we see their vision and intentions to win.
It is my personal belief that such a platform is needed to encourage entrepreneurs to do even more. We have to recognize what they all are doing all around the country. With such support, it becomes easier for them to showcase their potentials, and by doing this, we will get to discover many more creative entrepreneurs in our society. This is my passion— to encourage, support, showcase, and discover.

Which aspects of your business do you think as the most important to success, what is your value?

The most important value is that we aim to establish a global platform that celebrates the stories and accomplishments of creative entrepreneurs especially in black communities all around the world. More importantly we want this done in such a way that these entrepreneurs are seen and celebrated within an enviroment of fun , to create long-lasting memorable experiences.
